1/2 lb 225g hot Italian sausages, cut into 1inch (2.5cm) pieces
1/2 tsp 2mL cooking oil
1/2 lb 225g lean ground beef
1/2 cup 125mL chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced ( or 1/4tsp, 1mL powder )
14 oz 398mL can of diced tomatoes (with juice)
10 oz 284mL can of mushroom stems and pieces (with liquid)
1 cup 250mL water
7 1/2 oz 213mL can of tomato sauce
1/2 tsp 2mL dried whole oregano
1/2 tsp 2mL dried thyme
1/2 tsp 2mL dried basil
1/4 tsp 1mL salt
1/4 tsp 1mL pepper
6 oz 170g spaghetti, broken up
